Laser Therapy

What is Laser Therapy & How Can it Help Your Pet?

Laser therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free, drug-free use of laser energy to generate a photochemical response in damaged tissue.  Laser Therapy can reduce pain, reduce inflammation and accelerate recovery from a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions.  We've been using laser therapy for well over 10 years at Franklin Veterinary Hospital and we are one of the only clinics in the area to offer this service.  We recently upgraded to a 15 watt Companion Laser, and we are now able to treat patients more quickly and effectively.  We have treated hundreds of patients over the years and the results are phenomenal.  Many of our patients are able to reduce oral medications or to go off of them completely when they start laser therapy.  Treatments only take a few minutes and we do our best to make sure your pet is comfortable and relaxed during their session.  Most of our regular laser patients love to come and don't even realize they are having any kind of medical treatment!

The majority of our laser patients are being treated for osteoarthritis and other orthopedic problems, but we can use the laser to treat a wide range of medical problems such as:
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Neurologic Disease
  • Joint Disease or Injuries
  • Bone Fractures
  • Edema and Tissue Swelling (i.e. snake bites)
  • Wound Healing
  • Skin Conditions (i.e. lick granulomas and infection)
  • Ear Infections
  • Post-Operative Healing and Pain Control
  • Feline Stomatitis
  • Dental Disease
  • Pain Management
Please call our office if you think your pet may benefit from Laser Therapy and
we would be happy to set up a consultation. (828) 369-8080

Laser Testimonials:

"Rocky had slipped a disc in his back and had surgery for it.  He eventually started to feel pain and discomfort so we tried the laser treatments.  It worked great and made him more comfortable for the remainder of his wonderful life!"

"We've been using Laser with my 14 year old lab for arthritis for about a year with great results.  It has increased his mobility and reduced pain in his joints.  He also developed a cough that got progressively worse and would keep us all up at night.  I was very hesitant to use narcotic cough pills.  Dr. Frank suggested that Laser might help reduce the inflammation and we added the throat area when we do the laser treatments.  His coughing has been reduced by about 90% and we have not had to use the cough pills once.  We are thrilled with the benefits of Laser for Gator!

"A few years ago my cat was treated for asthma with Laser, and she was able to stop using steroid drugs to help her breathe. Amazing!  My big aging dog had pain that was causing him to walk slowly, limp and whimper.  Diagnosed with arthritis in his lower back and hind legs he consumed pain pills everyday until his first laser treatment a few days later.  Soon after beginning treatments, he didn't need any more pain pills and stopped whimpering and limping!  After a while he returned to running like a deer! He still takes laser treatments and it is awesome.  The very talented laser technician makes the treatments relaxing and fun for my dog, making this one of the most treasured moments of his week."

"My dog, Mini's ear canals were extremely swollen and red for quite some time.  After receiving regular laser treatments her ears have improved greatly!"
~ Kim and "Mini"
